great price for this product. It usually runs `$10 a piece and I basically bought 2 and got the 3rd free. This is a great product to get a widower or elderly person as a gift.

As it was said in another review, there is absolutely nothing fine about this chocolate, on the contrary, you only taste sugar, no chocolate flavor at all. Besides, some flavor combinations are just nasty (the roman nougat for instance). When I opened the box, the first this that got me off was the little card supposed to introduce the brand, but instead it says :"We use only a 100% real chocolate. It says it right there in our ingredients. Other manufacturers can't say this. You see, not everything chocolate-colored is real chocolate. Look for words such as "chocolate flavored", "chocolaty" or "chocolate coating". This in not real chocolate - merely a flavored product that is often vegetable oil based"Are they for real? How can a supposedly "fine" chocolate brand compare itself to chocolaty-coating-flavored brands? and, are they really trying to educate their customers about what fine chocolate is? while still offering an unpleasant product (to say the least) ?I would not recommend this to anybody, you're better off with a regular ghiradelli chocolate bar from any regular store if you don't want to spend too much for some chocolate.

Wanting to indulge myself, I recently purchased a box of these at the local store. Unfortunately, contrary to the descripton on the box, I discovered the hard way that there is nothing "fine" about these assorted chocolates from Russell Stover. Not only are the creamy centers so sugary that they overpower the chocolate shell and make it difficult to tell what flavors they're supposed to represent, each chocolate piece has an underlying chemical taste. At first I gave the company the benefit of the doubt by assuming I'd gotten a box that had been sitting on the shelves too long, but another review of the smaller-sized version of this item (Russell Stover Fine Assorted Chocolates Handcrafted in Small Batches 2oz had the exact same complaint about the taste.So if you're ever in the mood for gourmet chocolates and you see these, run-- don't walk-- the other way! You're better off just grabbing a Ghiradelli, Lindt, Toblerone, or even a Willy Wonka instead. These are flat out nasty!
